My name is Nikki. I am a mother of two (under 5) and married to my bestfriend. Since my last born in 2019 I have been researching GS. I loved being pregnant and we as a family are whole, so for me Surrogacy was a no-brainer! I love to help others and what better way to help then to help another family become whole.
To become a surrogate it is suggested to do a lot of research before taking the plunge. Which I did. (Since having my son in 2019!) There are also a ton of Facebook groups to join and follow. (I high suggest doing this because I did and have learned a lot!) From one of those groups I met (virtually) a wonderful experienced surrogate, Portia. We had a conversation about NYSC which is the agency she is/was (depending on when you are reading this) using. I took a few days to search out NYSC and knew that I met the requirements. The web page is extremely easy to navigate BTW and very informative. I decided NYSC was the agency I wanted to work with and put in my application on October 26th 2020. After my application I spoke with Joe via email to schedule my phone interview. The phone interview went well. Somethings we spoke about is my pregnancy history, family, health etc. Joe is so easy to talk with and work with. I am a shy person so to have someone like Joe to talk with was a plus for me.
The pre-screening process took a little bit of time to get the information in order. I wanted to make sure I had everything in order for Joe and the agency to go over! One part of the pre- screening process that had a funny ending for me was the drug test which was also an easy process BTW. Now, I have A LOT of hair so the good chunk of hair that they took really didn’t mean anything. Well a few weeks later I couldn’t think for the life of me why my hair was so short in the back. (I wear my hair up a lot.) A brief conversation with Portia and it dawned on me why a chunk of my hair was shorter then the rest. It was a good laugh to remember why!
After the pre-screening and a green light to move forward Joe then made my GS profile to start matching!
