Well here we are at 36 weeks with just one month to go and boy am I feeling ready to pop! Officially I am at the stage where it is impossible to sleep comfortably. Thankfully, the winter weather we are experiencing has been keeping me nice and cool in these end weeks. One big difference between this pregnancy and my own is that surrobabe is absolutely ginormous; measuring in the 96 percentile! With that being said; conversations have been happening between the intended parents and myself regarding early induction and planned C-section. It is also bringing about what I am realizing is the importance of being honest and voicing my concerns for my own safety. While surrogates are expected to understand there are risks with surrogacy, IVF, and pregnancy in general; it is imperative to remember that there are multiple people on this journey including the intended parents, their child, and the surrogate as well as her family. I believe having honest and open conversations is central to feeling comfortable and safe. Ultimately, choose a provider that you feel will answer all questions in an unbiased manner that leans towards the best possible outcome for the safety of the GC and the child. As the pregnancy comes to a close I am feeling increasingly excited for my IPs to finally experience parenthood and all the joys that come with having a beautiful baby boy. Until next time!
