The Last Stretch to the Finish Line

We’re nearing the finish line. I have two non-stress tests weekly, actually since the growth scan. I was also checked around 36 weeks and was only 1cm dilated and not effaced, and she was still pretty high, even though that’s not how it feels to me! Our last growth scan is scheduled for July 3rd, which is 37 weeks 6 days, and also only 3 days before my 42nd birthday! Something to look forward to, as well as the c-setion that is scheduled for July 11th! We’re almost there! I’m enjoying the ladies that I see twice a week at the non-stress tests. They call baby girl a wild child because of how much she moves! Thankfully, even with all her crazy moves, she does let me sleep most nights. I stopped working at my job at the end of June, and am so thankful for the rest I am getting in these final weeks, even though I feel like I have an appointment every other day! I’m also so thankful for the women and fellow surro mamas that I have connected with through NYSC, what a special group they are! I know that I’ll also stay in touch with my case worker, Serena, she has truly made my journey so wonderful! I feel blessed to have made so many new connections. With the dad’s, who I knew before this journey, but feel ever closer to now, and their family’s, and friends, some of who have continued to reach out to me and make me feel seen and loved, and the surrogates, it’s just so amazing! Sheesh, I’m all emotional thinking of this special journey for this special girl. I guess that’s a signal to get to bed and report back when we have a baby! 😴👣💖
